Laura Creek is a permanent creek featuring deep pools and small rapids. Because it is off the beaten track, Milani is renowned in the New England area for peaceful rainbow trout fishing uninterrupted by the crowds that sometimes spoil the sport in other more popular locations. Its a great place to teach the kids the basics of trout fishing.

It is just 5 hours from Brisbane or 7 hours from Sydney 26 km off the New England highway

The fishing season opens on the NSW Labour day weekend in October and closes on the Queen's Birthday long weekend in June. Fly fishing enthusiasts as well as spinners or live bait users (we have a worm farm) will all enjoy fishing in Laura Creek. The stream provides an easy walking bank in most places for the energetic, or there are several places where you can drive to favoured spots for the less mobile.

Fishers are required to purchase a fishing license which we can provide as a gold agent (we don't deduct a commission and the full fee goes to the improvement of services for recreational fishing). A copy of trout fishing regulations is provided in each cabin.
